WOW Profession: Inscription

Scribes utilize the Inscription profession to enhance their own or other characters' abilities. This includes the creation of scrolls and the creation of vellum which allows enchanters to store an enchantment. Scribes' primary ability is to craft Major and Minor glyphs which provide various bonuses to character abilities.
A scribe requires a Virtuoso Inking Set in his/her inventory in order to perform inscriptions. Because inscribing requires the use of rare pigments, generated from herbs, this class is a good match with the Herbalism gathering profession. To gain such rare items is not an easy thing, the game system will distribute these to any one of your partner. So to buy the pigments in the AH using the World of Warcraft gold is more convinent.

Glyphs
With the advent of Patch 3.0.2, all characters have a glyph sheet attached to their spellbook. A scribe may place a glyph on his own spellbook or another character's. Inscription requires the presence of a Lexicon of Power, found near Inscription trainers in any major city. As with gems, a glyph which could buy in the AH by the cheap wow gold cannot be removed but can be overwritten.

The number of glyphs that a character can use is based on level:
Lvl 15-29: 1 Major and 1 Minor Glyphs
Lvl 30-49: 2 Major and 1 Minor Glyphs
Lvl 50-69: 2 Major and 2 Minor Glyphs
Lvl 70-79: 2 Major and 3 Minor Glyphs
Lvl 80: 3 Major and 3 Minor Glyphs

Milling
After your initial training in Inscription, you will gain the Milling ability in your spell book which would make you grind herbs to produce pigments. This is a good way to increase your wow gold in the leveling processing. Drag it to an action bar for easy access.
5 herbs are consumed for each milling attempt and will generate a random number of pigments which many World of Warcraft moneny. There's also a chance that an uncommon pigment may be milled from any attempt in addition to the common one. To mill herbs requires an appropriate level of Inscription skill for the type of herb.

When initially leveling this skill, focus on using the Milling ability to turn herbs into pigments and brew inks. Make inks until you're at least halfway until you learn the next ink, then switch to making vellums, glyphs, and scrolls until can learn to make the next ink. Switch to making those inks and repeat the process. Once you reach 75 Inscription, remember to do your daily Minor Inscription Research - at the current time, this is the only way to gain Minor Glyphs. This always requires Moonglow Ink, which should keep a healthy market for the herbs milled for Dusky Pigment.
